Making Developers lives easier with SQL Server 2016

As part of the Steel City SQL May 2016 Meetup, I gave a presentation on the ‘Mission Critical Features of the Next Generation of SQL Server‘.

I spoke about the rich set of capabilities of SQL Server 2016 and the new & improved features relating to Performance, Productivity and Security. I explained how the life of a SQL Developer and Database Administrator will soon be transformed with features like Query Store, Live Query Statistics, Comparing Execution Plans, Built-in JSON Support, Temporal Database, Stretch Database and other nice T-SQL enhancements. We also looked at the new security features – Always Encrypted, Row Level Security and Dynamic Data Masking.

Steel City SQL Server Users Group is the Birmingham, AL chapter for the Professional Association for SQL Server or PASS. PASS is the world’s largest, user-run community dedicated to Microsoft SQL Server technologies including Database Administration, Database Development and Business Intelligence.
